The 18th-century Grand Hall of the College, today known as the Cardinals Room because of its portraits of distinguished alumni who became cardinals, is the pinnacle of the monument route. Decorated from 1715 by quadratura painter Pellegrino Spaggiari and figurist Antonio Consetti with allegorical figures and trompe-l’œil ceiling frescos.
