The room is on the first floor, next to the Teatro.
The Cappella dei Convittori was completed in 1852 to a design by Cesare Costa. It is a richly decorated, solemn space: the vault features Venturi’s gilded stucco work and medallions of the Cardinal Virtues frescoed by Ferdinando Manzini, while eight paintings by Adeodato Malatesta depict angels carrying sacred symbols. Above the altar hangs Antonio Consetti’s eighteenth-century Presentation of the Virgin at the Temple, an elegant example of classical style.
